Training Terms and Conditions

Terms and conditions for booking Total Training courses from November 2024

Booking a course

The online booking form should be completed for the 3 day courses listed on our website and this triggers an invoice from us.

All training courses are invoiced in advance even if your company has a trading account with us.

For all other courses send us a company Purchase Order or your written instruction specifying the dates and costs agreed.

Payment

Our invoice must be paid at least 28 days before your course starts.

Payment can be made by cheque or BACS and by card over the phone or online for 3 day courses.

Fees apply to card transactions. Please check these with the office if you choose to use this facility.

If our invoice is not paid in time your place(s) will be offered to another customer.

Invoices raised less than 28 days ahead of the course must be paid at least 7 days before the course date.

Payment of our invoice acts as confirmation of your course booking.

In accordance with VAT regulations, a VAT invoice will be sent by e mail once the 'supply' is completed.

Cancellation and postponement

We reserve the right to postpone or cancel courses where our conditions can not be satisfied.

We will not accept responsibility for cancellations caused by events outside our control, such as industrial action, bad weather, consequences of a virus or loss of internet connection during online training.

We do not refund payments on bookings cancelled within 28 days of the course start date.

If you have paid for your course and need to postpone attendance, we will only transfer your booking to the next available date once.

General

Training with Total Training may help employers and the self-employed meet their duties in legislation to provide “such information, instruction, training and supervision as is necessary to ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable, the health and safety at work of their employees”. However a training course cannot discharge completely an employer’s statutory duties. Please ensure our content matches your requirements and understand it is only part of this process.

Our courses are not qualifications or intended to be ‘competent person’ courses; training of such short duration cannot normally produce competence or authorise a work activity. The only qualifications for entertainment rigging (as defined by the National Rigging Advisory Group) in the UK is the National Rigging Certificate awarded by PLASA.

See www.plasa.org for details of the National Rigging Certificate assessment scheme.

We make no assumptions about the ability of course attendees and treat every participant as an individual irrespective of age, gender, marital/parental status, sexual orientation, religion, ethnicity, cultural background or nationality.

The English language is used for the delivery of all courses and printed material in the UK and overseas. It may be possible by special arrangement to provide an interpreter or translations. This takes time to organize and will attract extra cost; contact Total Training for details.
