Aluminium Canopy

Prism Lighting assigned us the task of creating a lightweight aluminium canopy to sit atop their existing ground support structure. This canopy was part of a bespoke launch with specific requirements. The structure was placed within a courtyard of new build apartments and needed to weather protect the entire area, requiring attention to the geometry of surrounding buildings.

The covers were clear, necessitating an aesthetically pleasing design in addition to its primary function of providing protection from the elements. The canopy structure was based on our wind post system, used in larger outdoor roof systems. This design allowed for a thin pitched profile, maintaining visibility of the surrounding buildings and enabling Prism to integrate the standard components into their stock after the event.

TSG adapted the basic design to create a bespoke yet reusable canopy. We managed the structural engineering and promptly manufactured the product. Overall, it was a well-executed project.
