London Paralympics – The Book
‘The Book ‘ was one of four moving props we manufactured for the Paralympic opening ceremony. The idea was for two athletes to be atop of large moving ‘ roladex’ type structure that constantly rotated the pages of the declaration of human rights. Total Solutions had to come up with a rolling frame, scenically made up to be the spine of a book, whilst the pages rotated like a book opening and closing. Quite tricky when you think that you are trying to keep each individual page constantly spaced as you rotate a couple of tonnes vertically without knocking of the athletes on top !
